प्लांक विकिरण नियम यह बोस आइंसटिन सांख्यिकी का अनुप्रयोग है। क्वांटम सिद्धान्त के अनुसार विकिरित ऊर्जा सदैव ऊर्जा पैकेट के रूप में होती है। ये पैकेट क्वांटा या फाॅटोन कहलाते हैं। इन पैकेट की ऊर्जा hν होती है। यहां ν फॉटोन की आवृत्ति है। फाॅटोन अविभेदित कण है (m 0 = 0), जिनकी चक्रण क्वांटम संख्या s = 1 (पूर्णांक) है। अतः फाॅटोन बोस कण हैं, इन पर बोस आइंसटिन सांख्यिकी आरोपित की जा सकती है। अब एक पात्र पर विचार करते हैं विकिरण पात्र की दीवारों के साथ ऊष्मीय साम्य में हैं। आवृत्ति परास ν तथा ν + dν में विकिरण का ऊर्जा घनत्व = u ν dν संवेग आकाश में अल्प आयतन (h 3 /V) में कण अविभेदित होते हैं। अतः ये आइगन स्तरों को निरूपित करते हैं। किसी भी क्षण p तथा p + dp संवेग अन्तराल में स्थित सभी कण एक कोश में स्थित होंगे, जिसका आयतन होगा = 4πp 2 dp आइगन स्तरों की कुल संख्या समीकरण (1) तथा (2) से विकिरण के लिए ध्रुवण की दो स्वतंत्र दिशाएं होती हैं आवृत्ति परास ν तथा ν + dν में कुल आइगन स्तरों की संख्या g(ν)dν = 8πV(ν 2 /c 3 )dν ...(3) ...
