National Bird Day is celebrated every year on 5 January . This day is observed to spread awareness about birds, their importance in nature, and the need to protect them. Birds are beautiful living beings and play a very important role in keeping our environment healthy. Origin of National Bird Day National Bird Day was first celebrated in the year 2002 . It was started by bird lovers and environmental groups to protect birds from dangers like deforestation, pollution, and illegal hunting. The main aim of this day is to teach people, especially students, why birds are important and how we can help save them. Why Is National Bird Day Celebrated Every Year? National Bird Day is celebrated every year because many bird species are disappearing due to human activities. Cutting trees, using plastic, pollution, and climate change are harming birds and their homes. This day reminds us that: Birds need protection Nature should be respected Everyone has a responsibil...
Principle of phase control
- The simplest form of controlled rectifier circuit consists of a single thyristor feeding dc power to a resistive load R.
- An SCR can conduct only when anode voltage is positive and a gating signal is applied.
- It is found that a thyristor blocks the flow of load current until it is triggered.
- Since by varying the firing angle, the phase relationship between the start of the load current and supply can be controlled, hence the term phase control is used for such a method of controlling the load current.
- Since this circuit produces only one pulse of load current during one cycle of source voltage, so it is single phase half wave circuit.
To know about the principle of phase control by using a simplest form of controlled rectifier circuit which includes a thyristor, a resistor and an a.c. source please see our latest video on
The wave pattern of gate current, load voltage, load current and voltage across thyristor is also shown in this lecture to describe the complete functioning of phase control. This topic i.e., Principle of phase control is related to power electronics and industrial electronics, and is very important and useful for the students of electrical engineering, electronics engineering and also for the students of MSc physics. This is also helpful for the industry.
